The Hood County Commissioners Court held a special called meeting on April 14, 2025, to address a network infrastructure incident and real estate matters. IT staff reported a hardware failure in a network switch that disrupted 10 to 15 office phones in the Emergency Operations Center from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and identified gaps in alerting systems and disaster recovery planning for non-911 phone systems. Following executive session, the court approved a motion to request the county attorney extend the current YMCA lease at 1475 James Road under existing terms and authorized the purchasing department to solicit proposals for sale, lease, or lease purchase of the same property.
